Coachella 2023

Bad Bunny AR

We had the privilege of collaborating with Sturdy, All of it Now, and the Coachella team to engineer an augmented reality experience for Bad Bunny’s livestream performance at Coachella 2023.

We worked closely with Sturdy to create content in Epic’s Unreal Engine that paralleled the narrative and visuals seen on the stage LED screens, while ensuring seamless real-time optimization for global broadcast streaming.

AOIN then integrated our animations into the live broadcast via Unreal Engine, creating a visually stunning and immersive extension of the stage for viewers all around the world.

Optimization for UE

Our primary challenge in this project was to craft visually captivating animations and content, all while ensuring that our digital assets were optimized for seamless real-time rendering in Unreal Engine during the live-stream broadcast. We started our process with creating pre-viz animations in Maya and Cinema 4D. From there, we worked with AOIN to develop solutions for translating and optimizing our animations from Maya and C4D to work within the parameters of UE.
